Common Area Committee
General Appearance Subcommittee
Report
Thursday, June 7, 2001

No subcommittee meetings have occurred in the past two months. Instead, committee members have been donating countless hours to implement Phase One of the ranch improvement project.

Progress to date:

No Outlet/Deadend road symbols have been made and installed. Metal donated by Robert Walton Paint, fasteners, and labor donated by Vaughn Roundy

Entrance shed roof has been repaired by Dan Olin and Bill Bumstead. Shed has been painted by Jan Ferrero, Kathleen Kelly, Peggy Obrey, and Harriet V.

Entrance signs materials have been purchased. Pre-bridge sign is complete and ready for installation. Sign footings have been installed to date by Greg Beaumont and Dan Olin Fisher Peak sign is being made currently. Signs are being made by Dale Swett (and they’re magnificent!).

Entrance landscaping.  Joyce and Walt Wolff and Sue Downs pulled weeds. Rocks have been moved and set in place. Most new plantings are in place. Greg Beaumont and Ray Lucero of Fisher Peak Excavating donated materials and labor. Walt and Joyce Wolff have been supplying water for the new plantings.

Yet to be done.   Sign footings need to be increased in strength. Signs need to be installed. Security camera angles need to be double-checked and adjusted so everything coordinates and works.

Cost report to date.  Pre-approved receipts currently total $100 over budget estimate or $402.16. Budget allocated was $500. Greg Beaumont has not turned in landscaping and sign footing receipts which will be well over the $500 budget. The Common Area Committee will discuss the final dollar total and determine how much landscaping costs can be reimbursed by the POA.

Unfortunate problems encountered.  Theft has dampened our spirits. Some of the fire danger signs disappeared and recently several sacks of potting soil were lifted from the work site. Anyone with information regarding these disappearances should contact Harriet at 845-9213 or hvaugeois@rmi.net. Thanks.

Respectfully submitted,
Harriet Vaugeois, chair
