The Board of Directors of the Metropolitan District is now taking applications for water tap and service for the entire water system. The subsystem for Tank One and Tank Two have been functioning well since October of 2004. Over 20 connections have been made. Tank Three will be available in April as there are a few identified repairs yet to be made.
A supply of meter pits is still available to the Metro to meet planned installations for the complete system. As this supply is used a delay of two to three months could be expected awaiting the delivery of additional pits after ordering.
Please see the Water Tap Application under the Water System Section of the web site as there are several documents you may either download and print or request a copy from Gail Thomas at Century Business Solutions, 719 846-2080. The first document you should read is the "Water Service Connection Requirement" document. It will guide you through the complete process. The Board has tried to make the process as easy as it can be. Please note you will make only one check out to the Metro District and it will pay the City of Trinidad for the PIF and Water Rights. Several service applications will be processed at once thus minimizing the total number of transactions required. Once your package is complete get it to Gail with your payment and you will be notified of your schedule within a few days.
The Metro’s contractor will be able to do individual service connections to your cistern or home if you chose. Should you chose to use the Metro contractor your agreement with him for price and scheduling will be separate from any Metro agreement.
