Everyone is interested in the water system and anxious for a realistic completion date. Fact is, those of us working on the system are as anxious as the rest of you, but all we can do without making liars out of ourselves is give you periodic updates.
The good news is that we have approximately 40,000 feet of piping holding pressure with a total leakage rate of about 10 GPH. We are discovering most of the catastrophic leaks are failures in piping connections at transition points, rather than random leaks along the pipeline.
We are learning that the best method of making connections is with mechanical clamping fittings, instead of glue joints, as was originally done.
There has been a leak develop near the city connection, possibly as a result of another utility contractor digging into our line. As son as we have repaired this, and completed the replacement of pump one, we will be able to refill tank one.
We have to finish some repairs currently underway, then test the line down Oak Park and Ponderosa Ridge. After those lines are proven out and/or repaired, we're ready to start tank one sanitization, which we still expect to occur about August 1.
Thanks for your support and patience.
