Breckenridge: February 12-15, 2002

Ski in-Ski out is the way to go!!! You can ski to the condo, have lunch, take a nap, use the john or do whatever! Yes, it is more expensive but if you really want to have a great experience I highly recommend it.  We were even able to take Bandit; although she got a sore neck from watching skiers go by all day.

Ok, they said they have a 42 inch base but I can’t for the life of me figure out where they are doing the measuring or just what exactly the scale really is. Maybe they meant a 4.2 inch base.  Mike and I saw an awful lot of dirt and no snow in the trees.  But as usual we made the best of it and really had fun. They groom every green and blue run EVERY day!!  And there were no people there so we had the place to ourselves………until Friday.  Thurs DAY and Thurs NITE it snowed with a total accumulation of 9 or 10 inches.  It wasn’t your light as a feather powder but snow nonetheless.  So they rolled it.  Compress 10 inches of snow and you get 3 inches of packed that when skied becomes snow barriers.  Cut up and difficult.  Really threw us around..  Add 2 million people who saw that Breckenridge got snow and hence called in sick….and you got a mess.  Dead sleds all over the place. We left at noon.

And that’s the rest of the story…
