Well since I recommended Winter Park as the place to be, I thought, heck....I better go ski there!! Drat I hate the pressure. Anyway last Monday (January 14) we skied there with Dick Goellen and Rich Munsell. The conditions were superb and the snow as advertised. The local word is that Monday is the best time to ski as all the day skiers have gone back to Denver so only the vacationers are on the slopes. I can attest to the fact that there was no traffic, no lift lines and very few skiers... mostly retired folk. A great time was had by all.
It takes 4½ hrs on dry pavement to get to Winter Park from the gate with 2 stops. That is taking I-25 to C470 to I-70 to exit 232 at Empire and on up Berthoud Pass to the resort.
