2007 Year End Report
Road Committee

A ROAD COMMITTEE MEETING WAS HELD ON September 15, 2007, Present were John Albert, Tom & June Stephens, Steve Smith, John Sanders, John Noard, Dave Skoberg, Donna Garrett and Kris Spinning.

During 2007 we spent more time and money on road maintenance needs rather than road resurfacing.

The POA did receive about $30,000.00 in reimbursement from FEMA which offset some of the over $46,000.00 we spent in connection with last winters snow emergencies.

Through August we had graded 75% of all roads at least once (some more) and plan to grade the rest within the next 2 months.

We have completed hauling road base on 1.1 miles to Timber Park Dr. and we plan to haul additional materials to another 0.6 miles on the Eastern end of Timber Park, about 0.6 miles on Upper Fishers Peak (the old Tin Cup), and about 0.5 miles on Upper Gallinas/Trail Ridge.

John Albert reported on requests he has received for road material from a number of residents mostly on occupied cul-de-sacs.  A discussion was held about the possibility of using alternative materials (other than road base) on some of these less traveled roads.  Due to costs and lack of availability it was decided to use only road base unless we can again gain access to the red ash pile at Morley.

We have identified some of our priorities for 2008 and will continue to address maintenance needs and the areas, which have the worst problems with, mud.
